Preserving the Natural Heritage of the Piedmont

Located in the Central Piedmont of North Carolina, Allison Woods is an extensive hardwood forest and farmland covering over a thousand acres near the South Yadkin River and includes examples of nearly every Piedmont habitat. An Iredell County landmark, Allison Woods is a treasure trove of natural and cultural heritage worthy of preservation and enhancement.

Allison Woods is designated as a National Historic Place and as a Natural Heritage Site of Regional Importance.

Allison Woods is open by appointment any time of the year, and weekend public programs are held for families and adults. School groups learn from interactive field trips led by accomplished outdoor educators.
